And they say that it never rains in Southern California, huh?
Don't tell that to the Sprint Cup drivers who got in and out of their cars for about 12 hours on Sunday. It was good to finally see everyone come to their senses around midnight and say "let's call the whole thing off."
Not before everyone was just a little bit angry.
First, the essential information: The Auto Club 500 will be run, starting on lap 88 of a scheduled 250 (it's a two-mile oval), today starting at 11 a.m.
There was no official word if Fox would be on the air (Channel 13 in Southern Utah), but it would be a safe bet you'll find the race when the time comes.
Now, the bad news: There's no way the race should have been run on Sunday.
Why, with all the problems with cracked concrete and water seepage (or "weepers," as officials coined them), did they even try to start the race? Casey Mears, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and even Denny Hamlin were up in arms about it.
They had good reason.
