Dover power rankings
In the interest of saving space for the daily paper, I've decided to share my power rankings with you on this blog. All information will be updated after each week's race is completed.
Sit back, enjoy, and disagree if you must. It makes things that much more interesting
The latest NASCAR Nextel Cup power rankings through the Autism Speaks 400 at Dover International Speedway:
1. Jeff Gordon: Still the man until someone else takes away his points lead.
2. Jimmie Johnson: 15th-place run at Dover was hard work.
3. Matt Kenseth: Has been stuck on third for the last six weeks.
4. Denny Hamlin: His favorite track - Pocono - is coming up next week.
5. Carl Edwards: Third-place run at Dover was his best in a long time.
6. Jeff Burton: Still fifth in points
7. Tony Stewart: For once, didn't let his temper get the best of him after a wreck.
8. Clint Bowyer: He will get a win before the end of 2007.
9. Kevin Harvick: Since win at Daytona, season has been a rollercoaster.
10. Martin Truex, Jr.: Dover win propels him into Chase contention.
11. Kurt Busch: Sad episode with Stewart led to his banishment to the garage.
12. Kyle Busch: Hanging on to Chase spot by thread.
On the way up: Ryan Newman (led 135 laps, won pole for second straight week).
On the way out: Jamie McMurray (finished 24th in a race sponsored on his hood. Not good).
